Scope: Graphic Design, UI/UX Design, Visual Identity
When I was asked by Minduu to redesign several parts of their user interface, I was happy to jump in. Minduu is a search and booking platform for psychotherapists, so it was nice to contribute to something so important.
Problem:
Outdated look and legibility issues with the custom typography in web environment. Poor color accessibility.
Solution:
Replace the old custom font with a similar looking Lato from Google Fonts. Simplify the color palette and make sure that it's also accessible to visually impaired.
Naming and grouping the colors by functionality helps the design maintain focus.
Problem:
Cluttered user interface. Lacking visual hierarchy and consistent styling.
Solution:
Define a grid system for the layout. Set a typography hierarchy for different elements and color code everything consistently. Create reusable components for recurring elements.
The layout uses soft 8 point grid system divided into 12 responsive columns with a 4 pt baseline grid for typography line height.
Components help in-house designers to keep the style consistent and can be easily edited later on if needed.
Summary:
The redesign enhanced the legibility of the forms and made them more accessible. The new guidelines and the grid system unified the visual style of all the layouts and made further development more efficient.
